For the Mamas
Sometimes you just need to throw on a dress, some relaxing music (classical Christmas, for me today), a cute apron and make something with your hands!
Honestly, it's been a rough few (several?) days. Basically, our whole household has been battling some sort of virus, with aaalll the things! We've got 4 kids, one of them being an almost 2 year old. Mama is her main comfort, so she's been glued to my hip (more than usual). Although, I do enjoy the extra snuggles, it's just all been a lot lately. If you've got littles, you know exactly what I mean....the constant whining, because they don't feel good and cant really communicate that, the only wanting to be held, the not being able to get a minute to yourself, not getting a full meal and hydrating properly, not being able to get away for a shower. It seems never-ending, in the moment, but it will pass. Sure, laundry may pile up and other chores will fall to the wayside too, but soaking up the extra snuggles and being that safe space, is more important.
It's Saturday, so my husband got off work early. He was able to snuggle and nap with our toddler, while I slipped away for a relaxing bath & some YouTube (so needed). They were still sleeping when I got out, so I threw on my apron & music and made a candle. Without a sales deadline, without any other pressure. Just for the simple pleasure of relaxing and intentionally making something. I didn't have anything to bake right now, so a candle in a new scent, it is! I will share a finished photo and the details of it, once it is fully finished. It smells SO good though and I'm feeling refreshed. In the midst of a tough season, or a few rough days, pray extra and find small moments to do something that you enjoy. Remember, this too shall pass and He's got you. 🫂
